The narration was really good. This case is hard for Lance because he has been wondering where is his father for the last twenty-three years. But she seems to have a stalker that is watching everything because of some events that are happening to her. The familial ties between them draw you in as much as the mystery, but the mystery keeps you hooked. I enjoyed the relationship that is building between Lance and Morgan. I was invested in the characters, the storyline, and the ending.

It also has a little romance between Lance and Morgan because they make a great couple because Lance is a P. It lets me see the characters. I have been listening to this series via Kindle Unlimited and the narration is wonderful. How do you find out what happened over twenty years ago? Lance is an ex-cop turned private investigator. I should know by now to expect the unexpected. Morgan Dane has returned to Scarlet Falls after being widowed two years ago. The weight of the engine pulled the front end down. With such a pleasant life, she has no explanation for the sometimes dark and disturbing nature of her imagination.
But memories can play dirty tricks. They soon learn that the bones don't belong to Vic but rather to a young woman named Mary Fox who disappeared the same day Vic did. What's it say about me when a murder mystery by Melinda Leigh is like a warm, cuddly blanket? It was great to see his friends willing to help him solve this mystery. Sharp was also the lead police investigator on the case. I continue to enjoy Morgan and Lance.

The series is probably best classified as romantic suspense as the main characters are slowly forming a romantic connection but the books focus way more on the thrills and suspense and are not full of the steamy moments known in that genre but a cleaner read. As we get to know Lance, we find out that his father disappeared several years ago, and Lincoln Sharp, Lance's boss at Sharp Investigations, was the lead detective on his missing father's case for years before having to set the case aside and move on to other things.
I just love Morgan and Lance as a couple. Who in town is lying about what really happened all those years ago. Individually, Lance and Morgan are fascinating, complex characters; together, their connection to each other simply feels like a solid entity that is the only constant in this maelstrom. He is the Earl of Stamford, and, although younger than his sister, very much a man. If you want to read a thriller about crime and investigation this is the right book for you.
Now a missing person's case is a murder investigation forcing Lance to que 4. It is easy to determine which character is speaking and the action is intensified with the voice. Could his father have murdered some one and than run away? Is getting back to earth and stopping her father even possible anymore? Well, I don't do commitments. We would say that every character is as good as the firsts books, they have been developing along the three books and you will love the stories behind them.
